The World Health Organization estimated only one in 24 cases in elder abuse gets reported. In one Florida study, only 7 percent of elder abuse is reported and 2/3 of the abusers are family. Victims of elder abuse have a 300 percent higher mortality rate then seniors living in a safe environment.
