Baldwin High School senior Tyler Cooper won the inaugural Sun, Sand & Hoops 5K, which started and ended at Paradise Grill in Kaanapali.
Cooper finished in 18 minutes, 52 seconds. Daniel Chorbak was the runner-up, seven seconds behind.
Hannah Koski of Danville, Calif., was the women's winner in 19:45. Seabury Hall's Veronica Winham was second in 20:28.
Long-time trainer
Oregon trainer Clay Jamie-son will be on the bench for his 600th game with the Ducks today.
Jamieson joined the staff in 1998, and is the longest-serving trainer in the Pac-12. He has missed just three men's basketball games during his time in Eugene.
Jamieson, who worked with the U.S. junior team at the 2003 world championships in Greece, is the trainer for Oregon's softball and women's golf teams as well.
