Maui's Tanner Hendrickson hits the lip of a wave while competing in the EDP Billabong Pro Ericeira on Tuesday in Portugal. Hendrickson scored a 9.90 in his first-round heat, placing second and advancing to the second round. Also moving on in the World Surf League Qualifying Series 10,000 event was fellow Valley Isle surfer Imaikalani Devault, who finished second in his heat with an 11.40. Also in the field is Maui's Ian Gentil, who received a first-round bye. The event continues today, surf permitting.
