No. 2 Rainbow Warriors sweep away No. 11 Tritons

Rado Parapunov had 12 kills and nine blocks to lead the No. 2 University of Hawaii men’s volleyball team to a sweep of No. 11 UC San Diego on Wednesday in San Diego.

Parapunov also had two aces and three digs in the 25-20, 25-23, 25-18 win. King Kekaulike High School graduate Colton Cowell added 11 kills, four digs and an ace, block and assist as the Rainbow Warriors improved to 3-0.

UH middle blocker Patrick Gasman had six kills and six blocks to become the sixth player in program history to register 400 career blocks.

The Rainbow Warriors dominated at the net, outblocking the Tritons 11-3.5.

Kyle McCauley led UC San Diego (0-1) with 10 kills.

UH ends its four-match road trip today with another match at UC San Diego.
