Kahalehau, Ragasa lead Maui High to 12-1 win over Baldwin

Breani Kahalehau smacked a two-run homer and drove in two more runs on a double, and Jer-Zee Ragasa shut down Baldwin's offense to lead the Maui High School softball team to a 12-1 victory Friday afternoon at Patsy Mink Field in Kahului.
The matchup between the Maui Interscholastic League's top two teams in Division I was largely decided after one inning. The Sabers (4-1) scored six runs in the top of the first, highlighted by two-run doubles from Kahalehau and Mya Cadiz. The Bears (5-1) also had three errors in the frame.
That was all Ragasa needed as she limited the Bears to a run on two hits and two walks.
Kahalehau's two-run shot to center in the seventh capped the scoring.
The result leaves the teams 1-1 against each other -- Baldwin won the first meeting 9-8 in eight innings on March 8. The teams' third and final regular-season meeting is scheduled for April 13.
