Liko Arreola put her name on more records last week as the standout teen archer from Makawao competed in the USA Archery JOAD Target Nationals in Decatur, Ala.

Arreola celebrated her 15th birthday with a record-breaking victory in the compound cadet women division. She broke the national and world records for U18 compound women with a 50-meter score of 702 and double 50-meter score of 1,401.

“It’s pretty cool. My dad tells me to keep calm and stay focused, so I didn’t know I broke the record,” Arreola was quoted as saying in a story posted on USA Archery’s website.

Arreola, who has been virtually unbeatable since breaking onto the national archery scene a few years ago, dominated her division, which included 57 competitors from across the country.

She shot 353 in the first round, followed by rounds of 349, 348 and 351 to beat runner-up Olivia Dean by 24 points. Three others posted the third-highest score (1,349).

Starting at $4.62/week.
