UH sweeps UC Riverside on the road

The University of Hawaii women's volleyball team recorded its sixth conference sweep of the season, downing UC Riverside, 25-21, 25-15, 25-15 win on Thursday at the SRC Arena. 

Hawaii (13-6, 10-1 Big West Conference) held the Highlanders to an .074 hitting percentage while not allowing any UCR player to post more than seven kills.

The win marked UH coach Robyn Ah Mow's 99th-career win. She has a 99-35 record in five seasons in Manoa.

 Junior middle blocker Amber Igiede tied her career-high with three solo blocks and was in on eight blocks while recording her 17th-straight double-digit kill match with a match-high 11 put-downs. She had just one error in 20 attacks for a .500 hitting percentage.

The Rainbow Wahine, who lead the BWC by one game over UC Santa Barbara, hit ,216 for the match and out-blocked the Highlanders 10-4.

Hawaii plays at UC Davis on Saturday before returning home for matches next Friday against Long Beach State and Saturday against Cal State Fullerton.
