Maui Swim Club's Nick Almiron swims the butterfly portion of the boys 11-12 400-meter individual medley, winning his race by a large margin Friday as the Hawaii Age Group Long-Course Championship meet got underway at Kihei Aquatic Center.
The championships include 20 teams from across the state, with 345 total swimmers, including 87 from Maui.
The competition runs through Monday, with preliminary heats in the mornings and finals starting at 4 p.m. today and Sunday, and 3 p.m. on Monday.
