MIL basketball: Undefeated D-II teams take care of business
The Maui News
All four remaining undefeated teams in the Maui Interscholastic League Division II ranks kept their records unblemished with wins Saturday.
The Molokai High School girls and boys both improved to 6-0 after the Lady Farmers picked up a 57-14 victory over Seabury Hall (4-4) and the Molokai boys downed Kihei Charter (2-5) 54-17 at “The Barn” at Hoolehua.
Next up for the Molokai girls is a huge showdown with defending MIL champion Lanai, which improved to 6-0 with a 37-30 win over Hana (4-4) on Saturday in Lanai City. The Farmers and Pine Lasses face off in a pair of games this Friday and Saturday on Lanai, and a sweep of the games by either team would clinch the Division II regular-season championship and a state tournament berth.
Also on Saturday, the Seabury Hall boys continued to roll through their MIL slate with a 90-21 win over Lanai (3-3). The Spartans and Farmers don’t meet until the final full weekend of the D-II regular season, Jan. 19-20 on Molokai.
