Seabury boys soccer 3rd at state while King Kekaulike, Baldwin compete in DI bracket

The Seabury Hall boys soccer team took third place at the Hawaii High School Athletic Association Division II boys state championships, while King Kekaulike took fifth and Baldwin finished sixth in the Division I bracket.
Seabury entered the tournament at the Waipio Soccer Complex on Oahu seeded No. 4. The Spartans defeated No. 5 Kahuku 2-1 in the quarterfinals with goals from Cannon Vines and James Notarangelo.
In the semifinals, Seabury fell to No. 1-seeded Kamehameha Schools Hawaii 1-0 in overtime. KS-Hawaii would go on to win the state title.
Playing in the consolation round, Seabury faced Le Jardin and finished the game 2-2, leaving the two teams tied for third place.
In the Division I state championships, King Kekaulike defeated Kapolei 7-3 in the first round to move on to face No. 1-seeded Mililani in the quarterfinals. Mililani won the matchup 1-0.
After a first-round bye, No. 3-seeded Baldwin fell 2-1 to Campbell. Campbell scored first in the game before Baldwin's Tsubasa Thompson tied the game with a goal at the 39-minute mark. However, Campbell would prevail 6-5 in penalty kicks.
In the first round of the consolation bracket, King Kekaulike defeated Hilo 4-1 with Lorenzo Gonzalez (3:00), Zion Schaffer (6:00), Joaquin Tavares (18:00) and Makoa Kapuniai (56:00) recording goals for Na Ali’i.
Baldwin played Castle in the first round of the consolation bracket and, with a late goal from Tsubasa Thompson to tie the game 1-all, won on penalty kicks.
With both teams winning their first game in the consolation bracket, Baldwin and King Kekaulike moved on to face each other again in the match to decide fifth and sixth place. Na Ali'i prevailed in the contest, winning 4-2.
Lorenzo Gonzalez, Jake Hackett, Zion Mock and Tekoa Ichimura each scored a goal for King Kekaulike in the game. Baldwin's Maika Warner and Cooper Watkins scored goals for the Bears.
