Kamehameha Maui, Seabury Hall, King Kekaulike open girls volleyball season with wins
Archer Fabrao recorded a team-high nine kills, and Avei Leauanae added seven, as Kamehameha Maui defeated Lahainaluna 3-0 in a girls volleyball match Tuesday at the Ka’ulaheanuiokamoku Athletic Complex.
The Warriors dominated the match and won 25-8, 25-10, 25-19.
As a team, KS-Maui scored a dozen points off aces while Hiʻilei Alo and Ciara Poepoe facilitated the Warriors’ offense with 21 assists and 14 assists, respectively. Poepoe also had a kill and three aces, and Alo and Fabrao each had two aces.
KS-Maui and Seabury Hall will host the Ka Maka Ihe Invitational Thursday and Friday. KS-Maui will return to action Tuesday against Baldwin at 6:30 p.m. Lahainaluna will be back on the court Thursday against Maui High.

Seabury Hall secures win vs. Kihei Charter
Spartan Delaney Tauaese recorded six aces, and Seabury Hall opened its season with a 3-0 victory over Kihei Charter on Aug. 13 in South Maui.
The Spartans won 25-5, 25-11, 25-7. In addition to the aces, Tauaese also had five kills.
Milaniakai Padilla led the team in kills with eight and Clia Kafka had five. Padilla also had two aces and five digs.
Dillon McLellan had four kills to go with an ace and a team-high nine digs.
Seabury Hall will play Aug. 27 against Haleakala Waldorf. Kihei Charter will face Lanai on Aug. 29.

King Kekaulike tops Maui High
In their season-opener, King Kekaulike defeated Maui High in straight sets in a girls volleyball match Tuesday night in Makawao, winning 25-17, 25-18, 25-18.
King Kekaulike will return to the court Tuesday day against Lahainaluna. Maui High is set to face Lahainaluna Thursday at 5 p.m.
