Sports Lessons: The friendships I’ve made through sports. Knowing you’re playing or competing for each point, for the girl/teammate on your left and right is an unmatched bond and feeling. Being an athlete has taught me that you can’t dictate the outcome of every situation. There are always factors outside your control, no matter how much you prepare. What matters is where you choose to place your focus, whether that be your effort, attitude or mindset you bring each day. Learning to invest energy in what I can control has helped me grow for more than focusing on results.
