The Chaminade University women’s volleyball team has been picked to finish second in the Pacific West Conference preseason poll, selected by the conference coaches.
The poll was released Aug. 20.
The Silverswords received 89 points with two first-place votes. Defending PacWest champion Point Loma was predicted to repeat with 95 points with seven first-place votes. The University of Hawaii Hilo was picked to finish third while receiving one first-place vote.
The Silverswords' roster includes sophomore Lilinoe Paschoal, who graduated from Baldwin as a three-time Maui Interscholastic League Player of the Year. Paschoal played in all 30 matches last year and led the team with 607 assists.
