231 new COVID-19 cases, three on Maui
The state Department of Health today reported 231 new COVID-19 cases in the state, among those are three new cases in Maui.
The statewide total now stands at 3,346 cases of COVID-19.
Majority of today’s new cases are on Oahu with 223. There are also five new cases on Hawaii island.
Additionally, there is one more new death reported, an Oahu man, older than 60 years, who died Friday. There have been 31 COVID-19 related deaths since the pandemic began.
A previously reported death, a female on Oahu, has been removed from the count. An attending physician reported she likely died from underlying conditions.
The Health Department earlier on Saturday identified an incorrect gentleman’s club that a sick worker with COVID-19 was at on July 25.
The Health Department is working to identify the club the worker danced at.
Health investigators have been unable to identify all close contacts who potentially could be exposed to COVID-19.
Oahu’s COVID-19 reported case count is 2,964, Maui County with 184, with two on Molokai, Kauai County with 47, and Hawaii island with 128.
