Mana'o Radio to host fundraising event
Mana'o Radio will host the "Maui Time Warp: Back to the 80s Dance Party" fundraiser from 6 to 9 p.m. on March 23 at Kihei Charter School's The Altitude Deck.
There will be live music, DJs, an 80s-themed photo booth and classic video games. Attendees are encouraged to wear 80s attire.
All proceeds from the event will support Mana'o Radio.
Tickets are $35 per person and can be purchased in advance at manaoradio.com/80sparty.

College planning event set for Saturday
Exertus Financial Partners will host its "Empowering Parents, Securing Futures" event at 2 p.m. this Saturday at the J. Walter Cameron Center Auditorium.
This event is designed to equip parents with essential knowledge about options for saving for their children's college education, according to a news release.
"We believe that every parent should have access to the information and resources needed to secure their children's futures," said Exertus Financial Partners National Director Michelle Balala Siores. "By hosting this event, we hope to empower parents to make informed decisions about college funding."
There will be childcare available and refreshments will be served.

Free emergency readiness workshop
The Preparing Our Neighbors and Ohana (PONO) Emergency Preparedness workshop series for youth and adults will begin on March 16 in Kihei and will be offered at different locations in Maui County through November.
Future dates and locations are April 20 in Hana; July 27 on Molokai; Sept. 14 in Central Maui; Oct. 19 in Upcountry Maui; and Nov. 2 in Lahaina.
Specific workshop sites and times are being finalized and will be announced soon.
Eligible participants must be youth ages 13 and older or adults who are full-time residents. Participants will learn about first aid, fire suppression skills, firewise landscaping, emergency kits, stress management and mental health support resources.
There is no cost to attend and free emergency supplies will be available to take home after the training is completed.

Academy to present 'Swan Lake' June 1-2
Alexander Academy Performing Company will present four performances of "Swan Lake" June 1 and 2, at Seabury Hall's 'A'ali'ikuhonua Creative Arts Center.
The performances will feature 200 student dancers of all ages.
"Swan Lake is the most famous classical ballet for a very good reason, Tchaikovsky's music,"said Alexander Academy Performing Company Artistic Director Absalon Figueroa. "The score inspires the dancers to push their storytelling abilities using ballet as a vocabulary, transporting the audience to a fantasy world of royalty, magic, love, betrayal and the struggle between good and evil. The ballet is a visual spectacle, including iconic dance sequences and choreography performed worldwide."
