The 99th Maui County Fair will open Thursday at the War Memorial Special Events Complex for four days of carnival rides, food, entertainment, exhibits and community activities.

The fair will run through Sunday, with general admission $10 for adults and children ages 12 and older, and $5 for children ages 5 to 11. Children 4 and younger are free.

Admission gates will accept cash only. Tickets also can be purchased in advance at designated presale locations for the same prices.

On Sunday, the first 2,000 attendees, split among the fair's three entry gates, will receive free admission as part of Fun Factory Day, sponsored by Fun Factory at Queen Kaʻahumanu Center and Maui Mall.

E.K. Fernandez will introduce its Fun Pass app for carnival rides this year. The app allows fairgoers to purchase and manage ride credits on mobile devices, use a digital Fun Pass instead of a physical card and share the app with children while reloading credits as needed.

The Fun Pass is separate from fair admission and cannot be used to enter the fair or purchase food or other activities operated by the Maui County Fair and participating nonprofit organizations.

The app has a $1 annual wallet fee. In-app purchases are subject to a 40-cent fee plus a 3.2% convenience fee, and unused credits are nonrefundable.

A presale period for Fun Pass purchases runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. Credit and debit cards will be accepted during the presale; cash will not be accepted.

The fair will feature 14 E.K. Fernandez rides, including the Speedway, which is new this year. Ride requirements are:
