The Maui Interscholastic League individual golf championships have been shortened to 54 holes and thus will end with Friday’s third round at the Wailea Blue Course. The fourth and final round had been scheduled for Makena Golf Club on Saturday, but the MIL was told recently that practice rounds would not be available to MIL players at Makena. HONOLULU (AP) — Federal authorities have begun monitoring Hawaii wastewater for COVID-19, while the state expects its own monitoring program to be fully operational this summer, officials said. The Maui News Maui County’s unemployment rate in March was 4.3 percent, down from 8 percent at the same time last year as the local economy continues to recover from the pandemic.
