“Strategies For a Successful Vegetable Garden” will be from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Lumeria Maui in Makawao. Learn success strategies for growing vegetables in the home garden. Cost is $20.

* “The Aging Eye” with Dr. Raymond Glauser will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at Kaiser Permanente’s Maui Lani Medical Office. This class will help you understand the eye and how chronic conditions and diseases of the eye can cause vision impairment. Call 270-7308 to register.

* Hawaii Ballroom Dance Association will hold its second and final registration for classes in Beginner Foxtrot and Intermediate Bolero from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Velma McWayne Santos Community Center in Wailuku. Participants will learn how to take a soil test and the easy steps of building the health and vitality of your soil. ** “Search Engine Optimization 101 For Beginners” with Nicole Fisher will be from noon to 1:15 p.m. Wednesday. In this workshop, Fisher will discuss how a search engine works. She will go over keyword phrases within a website and go over keyword research using Google AdWords. In addition, she will discuss the anatomy of a search engine.

** “QuickBooks for Small Business” with Richard Kehoe will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Learn to set up your company’s QuickBooks in a small class setting with personalized tutoring. This class is for new users and will teach you how to record sales, receive payments, prepare invoices and balance your checkbook. Cost is $45.

* Maui Nui Botanical Gardens will host a “Ipu Decorating Workshop” led by Kumu Lisa Schattenburg-Raymond at 9 a.m. Saturday at 150 Kanaloa Ave. in Kahului. Participants will learn the traditional Niihau style of processing and decorating fresh gourds, create their own ornamental patterns based on traditional Hawaiian designs and learn about native ipu dyes and dye methods. ** “Adult First Aid/CPR/AED” will be from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday and July 29. Get trained to recognize and care for victims of illness and sudden injuries and learn how to administer CPR and use an AED for life-threatening respiratory or cardiac emergencies on adults. Cost is $90.
