Maui Arts & Cultural Center in Kahului presents a free night under the Maui night sky at 7 p.m. Friday with a Starry Night Cinema movie screening of the popular Disney film, “Mary Poppins Returns,” starring Emily Blunt and Lin-Manuel Miranda.

This sequel to the 1964 film, “Mary Poppins,” takes place in 1930s London, 25 years after the events of the original film. Now grown, Michael Banks (Ben Whishaw) finds himself in danger of losing his home in five days time.

Just as all seems lost, Michael and his sister Jane (Emily Mortimer) receive the surprise of a lifetime when their childhood nanny, Mary Poppins, arrives in time to save the day and take the current Banks family on a magical, fun-filled adventure.

This film is rated PG and has a running time of two hours and 17 minutes. Admission is free.

Bring low-back beach chairs and/or a blanket and spread out on the A&B Amphitheater lawn for the film screening. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. Enjoy live preshow entertainment with Conner Snow and Jake Smith, plus a free keiki art activity.

Food and beverages are available from local food trucks. If the weather is inclement, the movie will still be shown in Castle Theater. Seating is first come/first served. No coolers or outside food or beverages are allowed.
