Workshop to focus on pay issues “Do I Have to Pay My Employees for That?,” a free hourlong workshop on pay-related issues, will be held at noon Wednesday at the Maui County Business Resource Center at the Maui Mall. Topics to be discussed include the Fair Labor Standards Act, overtime rules and minimum wage salary, exempt and nonexempt status, independent contractors, guidelines for classifying workers and pay related to off-the-clock work, travel and training. Nonprofit group partners with store Lokelani ‘Ohana has entered into a partnership to sell handmade items at Satkhira Bazaar in the Sears wing at the Queen Ka‘ahumanu Center. Lokelani ‘Ohana, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was established in 2006 and offers programs in Saori weaving, creative arts, organic gardening and housing for people with developmental disabilities.
