2 Hale Mahaolu projects to get PV systems

Hawaii Pacific Solar, with HEA Hawaii Solar, has signed a contract to install solar photovoltaic systems on two Hale Mahaolu projects on Maui.The systems will be installed on the senior housing at Hale Mahaolu Ehiku in Kihei that has 115 units and the 35-unit Hale Mahaolu Eono in Lahaina.Construction was scheduled to begin this month, and the system should be operational at the beginning of December, a news release said.The total amount of PV installed will be 97.5 kilowatt hours, producing an estimated 143,000 kwh of electrical power annually, the news release said.The systems will be ...

HONOLULU - A Honolulu personal injury lawyer has been sentenced to 20 months in prison for tax fraud.U.S. District Judge Leslie Kobayashi also fined attorney Andrew Agard $2,500, ordered him to pay the Internal Revenue Service $61,180 in restitution and ordered him to perform 100 hours of community service.The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reports that Agard pleaded guilty last year to lying about his 2006 income.
