BOBBY LEE TO PERFORM TONIGHT ONLY AT MACC

Actor-comedian Bobby Lee brings his act to the Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s Yokouchi Pavilion at 7:30 tonight. The former “MADtv” cast member and regular guest on “Chelsea Lately” has been touring the country with his stand-up comedy. Tickets are $20, $28 or $38. THE BROWN OHANA AT ‘PICNIC FOR POKI’ EVENT

Roselani Place and Ola Na Mele Productions present a “Picnic for Poki” at 11 a.m. at the Historic Kaahumanu Church, 103 S. High St., in Wailuku. A slack key guitar performance by The Brown Ohana will be featured at the event held in honor of the late Allen “Braddah Poki” Pokipala, who was dedicated to sharing Hawaiian music throughout various venues in Hawaii. MUSIC, GAMES, FOOD AT KIHEI’S FOURTH FRIDAY

Kihei’s Fourth Friday Town Party will feature music, food, arts, crafts and more from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Azeka Shopping Center – Mauka. Flat Jackson, Royal Kings and Pacific Empire will perform. Activities include a keiki/youth zone, games, face-painting and bubbles. Donations for Maui Food Bank appreciated.

LAHAINA HONGWANJI OBON FESTIVAL TODAY

Check out the Lahaina Hongwanji Obon Festival, with dancing starting at 7:30 p.m. at the mission located at 551 Wainee St. Service starts at 6 p.m. and event continues until 10 p.m. Food items will include chow fun, shave ice, sushi and more. Craft sales and children’s games also featured.

MAPA PRESENTS ‘MISS SAIGON’ AT THE MACC

Join the Maui Humane Society for an “’80s Flashback: A Benefit for Shelter Pets” from 8 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. at Lulu’s Lahaina Surf Club & Grill at the Lahaina Cannery Mall. I Want Candy, an ’80s cover band, will be featured, along with a costume contest with prizes, beer specials and plate lunches. DANCE NIGHT AWAY AT FATHER-DAUGHTER BALL

RECEPTION FOR RITZ ARTIST IN RESIDENCE

A reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today for artist-in-residence George Allan at The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua Village Galleries. Allan works with oil paints and is known for his use of color.

SEA TALK SERIES AT MAUI OCEAN CENTER

Maui Ocean Center continues its complimentary Sea Talk Series from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. today with a presentation on sea turtles by researcher and biologist Cheryl King. The presentation “The Real TMNT (Tracking Maui’s Nesting Turtles) Superheroes” will focus on the Hawaii Wildlife Fund’s research and conservation efforts involving turtles. Guests should wear their favorite turtle shirt or outfit, and there will be a special prize giveaway for the best “TMNT” costume. Call 270-7088 for reservations.
