FLAVORFUL EVENTS SET FOR KA’ANAPALI FRESH
Ka’anapali Fresh will present multiple events starting today with the ‘Aha Aina O Ka’anapali featuring dinner, live music and hula from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Westin Maui Resort & Spa. Cost is $89 plus tax. On Saturday, Fresh Mixology 101 will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa, and the From Range To Sea dinner event will be from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Royal Ka’anapali Golf Course. RENOWNED KUMU HULA HONOREE AT FESTIVAL
The Emma Farden Sharpe Hula Festival will be held throughout the day at Banyan Tree Park in Lahaina. Along with hula performances, the free event honoring the renowned Lahaina kumu hula will feature exhibits, workshops, live music, a movie in the park, crafts and children’s activities. FREE KEOKEA EVENT TO FEATURE FOOD AND FUN
The inaugural Keokea Ho’olaule’a will feature entertainment, vendor booths offering food, arts and crafts, and a children’s playing area from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The free event is aimed at showcasing Maui farmers, produce, artisans and entertainers and will be held at the Keokea Hawaiian homestead baseyard. THREE-DAY HULA EVENT COMING TO THE MACC
The Maui Arts & Cultural Center kicks off the three-day Ku Mai Ka Hula competition with a film and talk story session at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 11 in the McCoy Studio Theater. Solo hula competitions will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 12, and group compeitions will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sept. 13. The events will feature award-winning halau from Hawaii and the Mainland.
