MAKAWAO TOWN PARTY FUN FOR WHOLE FAMILY
Experience the “Spring Time Blues” at the Makawao Third Friday town party from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., featuring a classic car show and music by Rosalind Modica’s Blues Society on the main stage. Performances will also include Makawao Elementary School 5th-graders, Sweet Yum Yum Beets and DJ Blast. There will be food for sale, crafts, children’s entertainment, a puppet show and more.
BENOITS TO PERFORM TOGETHER AT ‘AMI ‘AMI
See Kendall Benoit, daughter of talented musical duo Phil and Angela Benoit, in her concert debut at ‘Ami ‘Ami Bar & Grill at the Maui Coast Hotel in Kihei. The Benoit family, including legendary jazz pianist David Benoit, will perform together starting at 7:30 p.m. Kendall Benoit will perform a range of songs from artists such as Billie Holiday and Amy Winehouse. There is no cover.
CATCH ‘BYE BYE BIRDIE’ AT KING KEKAULIKE
King Kekaulike presents “Bye Bye Birdie,” the play inspired by Elvis Presley’s raving teen fans and drafting into the military at the height of his fame. Performances are at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 3 p.m. Sunday at the school cafetorium in Pukalani. Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for students and are available at the door.
SCREENING OF ‘KIKAIDER REBOOT’ FOR FESTIVAL
Watch the Maui premiere of full-length feature film “Kikaider Reboot” on Friday leading up to Saturday’s Maui Matsuri Festival. ‘DA TASTE OF KEOKEA’ TO CELEBRATE LOCAL FOODS
Celebrate Maui’s culinary diversity at “Da Taste of Keokea” from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Keokea Marketplace (Milepost 16.9 on Kula Highway). The event, promoting a farm-to-table theme, will feature food and beverages for sale, music and hula. Admission is $1 per person.
FUNDRAISER FOR NEPAL AT MATTEO’S OSTERIA
Music will be performed by Italian guitarist and composer Andrea Razzauto and violinist Adonijah Imgrund. Art will be displayed by Dario Campanile. Cheese will be made at table by Mauro Gramuglia and the eight-course menu through the theory of color will be made by Mattero Mistura at Matteo’s Osteria in Wailea at 6 p.m. as a benefit for Nepal. FRENCH ARTIST’S SOUND INSTALLATION AT MACC
Ponder the use of inflatable pools of water along with floating crockery used to make a sound collage in the installation of French artist and composer Celeste Boursier-Mougenot, opening at 10 a.m. at the Schaefer International Gallery at the MACC.
