16th maui matsuri. The Japanese Cultural Society presents Maui Matsuri at the University of Hawaii Maui College campus in Kahului. Friday: “Let’s Dance” event at 7 p.m. at the Student Lounge with guest instructor PJ Hirabayashi. Saturday: Festivities are from 2 to 9 p.m. on the campus grounds. There will be entertainment, craft booths, contests, keiki activities, demonstrations, food booths, cosplay, and will conclude with obon festival dancing. Admission is free.
