APRIL IS NATIONAL KITE MONTH. Enjoy four days of kite learning fun at Lahaina Restoration Foundation's Chinese Kite Festival. Today: Kite making project with artist George Peters of Colorado from 4 to 7 p.m. at Lahaina Cannery Mall. Peters will lead a team to design and build the largest Chinese serpent kite ever seen in Lahaina. Friday: Festival hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. with free admission. Enjoy displays and presentations on ancient Chinese kites at 2 and 6 p.m. at Wo Hing Museum & Cookhouse. Festival-goers are encouraged to help complete the giant Chinese serpent kite from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday: Kite Flying Day at Lahaina Cannery Mall's south lawn from 9 to 11 a.m., Flight of the Giant Chinese serpent kite will take place at 11 a.m. Sunday: Free kite flying air show by kite masters from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lahaina Recreation Center's park.
