"Makawao Mo Bettah Motown," is the theme for this month's celebration from 6 to 9 p.m. Baldwin Avenue will be closed from below Makawao Avenue down to Brewer Road. RINZAI ZEN MISSION OBON FESTIVAL IN PAIA
Rinzai Zen Mission presents its annual obon festival with a service at 6 p.m. and dancing to start at 7 p.m. Experience the traditional dance styles of Okinawa and special performance by Ukwanshin Kabudan from Oahu at 8 p.m. Buy pig's feet soup, shoyu pork, chicken bamboo, andagi and more. The mission is located at 120 Alawai Road (next to Baldwin Park) in Paia, contact the Rev. Ryozo Yamaguchi at 268-2209.
MEET ORIGINAL HOKULE'A CREW IN KAPALUA
The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua will host a special, talk story presentation with the original 1976 crew of the Hokule'a voyaging canoe at 7 p.m. at the resort.
