FirstLight continues Friday

The Maui Film Festival’s FirstLight: Academy Screenings on Maui continues Friday with back-to-back premieres and special screenings in the Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s Castle Theater.

Admission to FirstLight is possible using either the Maui Film Festival’s $48 4-Film VIP FirstLight FastPasses or by purchasing individual tickets for $15. Passes are available at the MACC?box office, by calling 242-7469, or by visiting www.mauifilmfestival.com or www.mauiarts.org.

A schedule of screenings through Tuesday follows below:

* “TIMBUKTU” PG-13, 1:37. Drama. Screening is at 2 p.m. Friday.

The magically serene land of Timbuktu is challenged by the intrusion of the 21st century. Starring Ibrahim Ahmed, Abel Jafri and Toulou Kiki.

* “THE COLOR OF TIME” R, 1:13. Biography, drama, romance. Screening is at 5 p.m. Friday.

A poetic road trip through Pulitzer prize-winning CK Williams’ life. Starring James Franco, Mila Kunis and Jessica Chastain.

* “SONG ONE” PG-13, 1:26. Drama. Screening is at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

After her brother is in an accident, Franny returns home only to fall in love with her brother’s musical idol. Starring Anne Hathaway, Mary Steenburgen and Johnny Flynn.
