Screenings for the Angkor Wat International Film Festival will be held Feb. 20 in McCoy Studio Theater at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center.
The fundraising event seeks to preserve culture and the environment by screening documentaries around the world.
Film topics range from underwater mysteries and global warming to big-wave riders and Alfred Hitchcock.
Tickets are $13 per time slot for adults and $10 per time slot for students 17 years and younger (plus applicable fees) and are available at the box office, by calling 242-7469 or online at www.mauiarts.org. All screenings are in 3D and include glasses.
Following is a schedule of screenings:
“IMAX UNDER THE SEA” G, 45 minutes. Starts at 3 p.m.
An underwater look at the diverse coastal regions of Southern Australia, New Guinea, and other Indo-Pacific areas and the impact of global warming on the oceans.
“THE ULTIMATE WAVE TAHITI” G, 45 minutes. Follows “Under the Sea” screening.
Plunge yourself into the stunning beauty of an island paradise on a quest to find the perfect wave-riding experience.
“STORM SURFERS” G, 100 minutes. Starts at 5 p.m.
The ultimate big-wave thrill ride follows best friends and surfing legends Tom Carroll and Ross Clarke-Jones.
“DIAL ‘M’ FOR MURDER” PG, 100 minutes. Starts at 7 p.m.
A woman becomes aware that her husband is trying to kill her and must devise a plan to trip him up at his own game in this Alfred Hitchcock thriller.
