The Maui Film Festival's 18th annual FirstLight: Academy Screenings on Maui continues at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center's Castle Theater.

Festival Director Barry Rivers could barley hold back his excitement about the quality of the December films coming to FirstLight's second quarter as well as its third quarter on Dec. 20, 22 and 23, and its final quarter on Dec. 27 and 28.

"In addition to presenting more than 100 Academy Award-nominated Best Pictures in addition to nearly 400 Oscar nominations from in all categories, FirstLight has provide Maui residents and film industry guild members the early opportunity to enjoy 16 of the 17 Academy Award-winning Best Pictures since 1999. And this year will be no different!" said Rivers.
