House District 8 candidate to host event

Cranston Kaleialoha Kapoi, a candidate for state House District 8, will be holding a fundraiser from 5 to 8 p.m. July 19 at the Paukukalo Community Center in Hawaiian Homes at 655 Kaumuali’i St.

There will be a kalua pig dinner, live music, door prizes and family fun.

Tickets are $10. They may be purchased from Friends of Cranston Kaleialoha Kapoi committee members by calling 276-2459 or at the door.

Kapoi, a Republican, will face House Speaker Joe Souki, a Democrat, in the Nov. 4 general election.
