Arakawa group slated to host fundraiser

Friends of Alan Arakawa will host "An Evening with Mayor Alan Arakawa" fundraiser Friday in the Grand Wailea's Haleakala Ballroom.The event begins at 4:30 p.m. with no-host cocktails. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. The evening will include entertainment by Andy Bumatai and a silent auction. Tickets are $75.There will be an "After Party" from 9 p.m. to midnight at Grand Wailea's Tsunami nightclub. Baisa fundraiser set for March 12Maui County Council Chairwoman Gladys Baisa will hold a campaign kickoff fundraiser at 5:30 p.m. March 12 at the Mayor Hannibal Tavares Community Center in Pukalani. Tickets cost $20.The event will feature dinner, Hawaiian music and door prizes, according to an announcement. Baisa holds the council's Upcountry residency seat.
