I wanted to take this opportunity to write about my experience at Maui Memorial Medical Center. There is a lot of turmoil surrounding the Kaiser takeover but that had no effect at all on the wonderful service I received there. I had a total knee replacement on Sept. 19. Everyone was kind, capable and professional. I especially want to mention my wonderful surgeon, Dr. Ching, my anesthesiologist, Dr. Mathes. I am sorry to not remember the names of the operating room and recovery staff but they were so helpful and caring.
Finally I'd like to thank the nurses and aides on the floor who helped me through the agony of the first few days. Karen, Dara, Raychelle, Perfecta, Alice, Zaida, Mary Ann and Espe.
I hear people speaking about being frightened to go to MMMC and I would say that my experience tells a completely different story. This is the second knee replacement I've had done at this hospital and the first time was seamless as well.
