Maui favorite and Las Vegas Comedian of the Year for nine years in a row, Rita Rudner returns for a second engagement this year at 7:30 p.m. July 28 in the McCoy Studio Theater at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center in Kahului.
Known for her one-liners, Rudner had a Vegas gig that ran for 14 years and over 2,000 shows. She has sold one-and-a-half million tickets and has become the longest-running solo comedy show in the history of Las Vegas.
Rudner's first solo HBO special "Rita Rudner's One Night Stand" was nominated fo several awards. Her two one-hour specials for HBO, "Born to Be Mild" and "Married Without Children" were ratings standouts.
Rudner has written five books including two fiction novels.
She's filled Carnegie Hall in New York City three times and the Universal Amphitheater in Los Angeles twice.
