ArT=Mixx: Mystic Groove

Fusing performing and visual arts

Elaborating on ideas from the Schaefer International Gallery's current exhibit, "Sidney Yee: Wabi-Sabi," the Maui Arts & Cultural Center will host its latest ArT=Mixx party from 7 to 11 p.m., Saturday, June 1.

Encompassing the heart of the MACC, ArT=Mixx takes place in Yokouchi Pavilion, Schaefer Gallery and A&B Amphitheater. This fusion of visual, video, performance and interactive art, fashion, music and dance was conceived as a series of events to bring the 21-and-older crowd together "to find their inner artist."

Music will be provided by DJ Blake Rizzo, video projections by Visual Alchemy and performances by Lucid Fire, Shamanic Journey and Susanna Seafire.

Admission to ArT=Mixx: Mystic Groove is free. Food and beverage is available for purchase throughout the evening from vendors including Outrigger Pizza, Maui Teriyaki and Tutti-Frutti frozen yogurt, among others. A full selection of beverages, both hot and cold, will be available, including options from Maui Brewing Co. beer van.

For those wishing to enjoy a more private area with balcony access overlooking the event and stage performances, a limited number of VIP tickets are available for purchase for $40 (plus applicable fees). The VIP ticket allows access via a special express entry, a private cash bar and access to separate restrooms from the main event. VIP ticket holders are allowed access throughout the night to the lounge as well as all event activities in the pavilion and amphitheater.

Attendees of ArT=Mixx events are encouraged to come dressed for the occasion -- costumes are encouraged.
