Submissions are subject to revision and rewriting, inclusion is not guaranteed and publication does not mean programs are endorsed by The Maui News.

• Keiki art class, "Animal Kindness Club," with Barbara Steinberg will be from 3 to 5 p.m., Wednesday at Maui Bridge Club, Kenolio Recreation Center, 131 South Kihei Road, Kihei. For ages 5 to15. Cost is $10 weekly. For more information, call 269-6845.

• Business workshop, "Worker Cooperative Startup Webinar," with David Johnston will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at Maui County Business Resource Center, Maui Mall, Suite B-9, 70 E. Kaahumanu Ave., Kahului.

Worker cooperatives are values-driven businesses that put worker and community benefit at the core of their purpose. Worker members share in the profits, provide oversight and, at times, management of the enterprise.

The webinar describes key steps toward getting off the ground, and where problems often occur. It includes chapters on building your group's democratic capacity, business and environment of support, in a participatory conversational format. At the end of the webinar, join a discussion about the possibility of starting worker cooperatives here on Maui. To reserve a seat, call 270-5770.
