Farm-to-table benefit celebrates environmental education programs

Maui Huliau Foundation, a non-profit that offers environmental education programs to Maui youth, is holding its seventh annual farm-to-table benefit celebration and food-focused film festival from 6 to 9 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 3 at Sugar Beach Events oceanfront venue in north Kihei.
Guests will enjoy fresh, locally inspired small plates and desserts from 10 of Maui's top chefs, a cash bar of locally produced cocktails made with Organic Ocean Vodka and Deep Island Hawaiian Rum, Maui Brewing Co. beer and Maui Wine selections. Na Hoku Hanohano Award-nominated Arlie-Avery Asiu will provide live ukulele music.
Viewings of short films made by students in grades 7 to 12 who have participated in MHF's filmmaking program add to the evening's entertainment.
Open to those 21 years and older, admission is $95 in advance and $115 at the door and includes access to all food stations with two complimentary drinks. Advance tickets are available to purchase online at www.mauihuliaufoundation.org/huliau-food-film-festival.
