Maui Minyo Kai will have is annual Osarai Kai dance recital at 2:30 p.m. Nov. 9 at the Maui Okinawa Cultural Center in Wailuku. The public is invited to this free event.
This year the dance club is celebrating Ken Tasaka's 30 years of teaching Japanese dance. She began her teaching career on Oct. 9, 1989, and founded Maui Minyo Kai in 2012. The organization strives to perpetuate the Japanese culture through traditional Japanese dance. Her students refer to her as Tasaka-Sensei.
