• Akaku Maui Community Media, Nov. 13; "Free Introduction to FM Radio" class with Renee DeAhl will be from 4 to 6 p.m. at 333 Dairy Rd., Suite 205, Kahului. This free orientation to radio broadcasting will introduce students to Akaku's low-powered FM talk radio station, KAKU FM 88.5, and cover some basics about using microphones and adhering to FCC regulations. Robin Puanani Danner will explain SCHHA's "Hawaiian Lands in Hawaiian Hands" proposed legislation that offers amendments to the 1921 Hawaiian Homes Commission Act federal trust. The recommended measure is particularly relevant during the Ku Kia'i Mauna movement seeking to block a 30-meter telescope atop Mauna Kea on Hawai'i island.
