Schaefer International Gallery at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center is bringing back the popular Uniques Gallery Gift Shop.
This showcase of artists and artisans runs Nov. 16 to Dec. 20 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
The gallery will present a special selection of artwork by 50 Hawaii artists who were invited to show up to three works of any medium. Their work is all priced at $300 and below, making them both artful and affordable for holiday gift-giving. Also part of the Uniques Gallery Gift Shop is merchandise from nearly 60 artisans and vendors from around the state. A small sampling of items includes lauhala hats, jewelry, linens, furniture, stocking stuffers, honey, jams and sweets for the holidays.
"We are excited to have woven silk couture coming in from Japanese artist Akihiko Izukura, who exhibited 'The Way of Natural Textiles' in the gallery in 2017," said gallery Director Neida Bangerter. The Gallery Gift Shop will also include imported items from Indonesia by Duck Soup Maui, elegant pieces from the Antique Boutique Maui, and vintage finds from private collections on Maui.
The Uniques Gallery Gift Shop will be open before Castle Theater shows and during intermissions; it will be closed Thanksgiving Day and Dec. 7. Admission is free.
