Kula church to host Halloween event
Waipuna Chapel in Kula is sponsoring an event that organizers call a “safe way to celebrate Halloween” from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
The price of admission is canned food for donation to the Maui Food Bank.
“Instead of kids going ‘trick or treating’ from house to house, kids go ‘trunk to trunk’ in the Waipuna Chapel parking lot,” the church’s announcement says.
The event will include free food, Halloween-themed games, a glow-in-the-dark tent, candy and prizes.

FireGate Ministries begins Sunday
Grace Church in Pukalani will host FireGate Ministries from Sunday through Wednesday.
The ministry includes Bible-based teaching, apostolic preaching and healing evangelism “all seamlessly woven together with the prophetic,” according to an announcement.

Christmas Gift Fair to be held Nov. 16
Calvary Chapel South Maui is hosting a Christmas Gift Fair from 2 to 7 p.m. Nov. 16.
“The fair will combine a festive shopping experience with a celebration of ‘the reason for the season,'” according to an announcement.
Those who’d like to sell handcrafted items, such as jewelry, or offer onsite services, such as massages, at the fair should sign up by today.

Harvest Party set for Thursday
Pukalani Baptist Church will hold its annual Harvest Party from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
The event includes free dinner, games, prizes, candy, a puppet show, cake walk and a costume parade.

Rummage sale slated for Saturday
Wailuku Union Church will host a rummage sale from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
Also, roast pork plate lunches can be picked up from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The lunches cost $10 and include roasted pork, gravy, corn, rice and bottled water.
Sales proceeds will benefit the church’s mission grounds development fund.
