Ash Wednesday service scheduled
Emmanuel Lutheran Church will hold its Ash Wednesday service at 6 p.m., the church announced.
Also, on Wednesdays from March 12 to April 9, the church will provide weekly meals at 5:30 p.m., followed by a service at 6:30 p.m.
During Holy Week, the church’s services on Holy Thursday and Good Friday will be held at 6 p.m.
The church is at 520 W. One St. in Kahului, near the intersection of Papa and Kaahumanu avenues.

Kihei churches to hold joint service
Kihei Lutheran Church, Kihei Tongan United Methodist Mission and Trinity Episcopal Church by the Sea will offer a joint Ash Wednesday worship service, held at 7 p.m. in the worship area of Kihei Lutheran Church.
The service will include the placing of ashes on worshipers’ foreheads in the sign of a cross and the celebration of Holy Communion. In addition, the hula group from Kihei Lutheran Church will dance, accompanied by 4-Given, the congregation’s men’s quartet.
The Kihei Tongan United Methodist choir also will sing.
Kihei Lutheran Church is on the corner of Piilani Highway and Moi Place.

Schedule of Lent services announced
Good Shepherd Episcopal Church has announced its schedule of services for Lent.
The church is at the corner of Church and Main streets in Wailuku.
Events include:
* Shrove Tuesday festivities at 5:30 p.m., with feasting on pancakes, sausages, bacon and other fatty foods in preparation for 40 days of fasting and contemplation.
* Ash Wednesday services at noon and 7 p.m., with singing from the church choir.
* Stations of the Cross at 6 p.m. Fridays during Lent, followed by a potluck supper of soup and salad.
* Healing eucharist services at noon Wednesdays from March 12 through April 9.
* Shepherds Awake!, a one-day faith renewal session, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 8. Parishioners will gather to pray, sing, engage in fellowship and discuss The Lord’s Prayer as well as continue to help plan the church’s future.
Also during Lent, Good Shepherd parishioners will host a Lenten Bible study in which parishioners will gather at a home for fellowship and Bible study. Those sessions begin at 6 p.m. and will be held March 11 (Wailuku), March 25 (Kihei), April 1 (Makawao) and April 8 (Kahului).

Additional Mass planned during Lent
Maria Lanakila Church will hold an additional Mass during Lent at noon Monday through Friday, the church announced.
On Fridays from March 14 through April 11, the church will host an Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament from 7:30 a.m. to noon. Stations of the Cross will be held at 6:30 p.m., followed by confession.
Sacred Hearts Mission Church in Kapalua will hold Stations of the Cross at noon Fridays, followed by confession.
A Wednesday evening adult Bible study, “Walking toward Eternity,” begins 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. March 12 and continues on following Wednesdays during Lent. Classes will held in St. Marianne Hall.
A parish mission will be held March 31 through April 2 at Maria Lanakila Church from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The mission guest speaker will be the Rev. Lane Akiona, pastor at St. Augustine by the Sea Church in Waikiki. A penance service will be held at 6:30 p.m. April 2.

2 Ash Wednesday Masses planned
St. Theresa Church will hold Ash Wednesday Masses at 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. with distribution of ashes, according to officials of the church.
Stations of the Cross will be held at 6:30 p.m. every Friday during Lent.
