Church youth plan 14-stop pilgrimage
Youth group members from St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church will stage a pilgrimage from their Wailuku church to St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Waihee on Sunday, starting at 10:30 a.m.
Student participants include LIFE (Living In Faith Experience) members as well as religious education and confirmation students. Parish members also have been invited to participate.
The walk includes 14 stops to pray the Lenten “Stations of the Cross.” Participants will walk along Mill and Market streets, through Happy Valley and along Kahekili Highway to Waihee and to St. Ann’s parish hall.
Motorists are asked to be cautious while driving in the area. A potluck luncheon will conclude the outdoor prayer walk.

Church announces Holy Week services
St. John’s Episcopal Church has announced its schedule of Holy Week services.
It includes:
* Monday and Tuesday; morning prayer at 8:30 a.m.
* Wednesday; Holy Eucharist and healing prayers at 8:30 a.m.
* Thursday; Maundy Thursday (with foot washing) at 6 p.m.
* April 18; Good Friday (sermons on “The Seven Last Words of Christ”) at noon and 2 p.m.; Friday egg coloring, crafts and keiki lunch at 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.
* April 20; Easter Vigil at 6:30 a.m., a brunch and bonnet parade will be held between services; Easter Day worship service at 9:30 a.m. with an Easter egg hunt to follow. (Children must attend Sunday school during the 9:30 a.m. worship service to participate in the egg hunt.)

Palm Sunday slated for Trinity Episcopal
Trinity Episcopal Church By-the-Sea will have its Palm Sunday service at 9 a.m. at the church located at 100 Kulanihakoi St. in Kihei.

* Maundy Thursday; a Seder (potluck) supper in the parish hall followed by the Holy Eucharist at 7:30 p.m. in the church.
* Good Friday; Stations of the Cross at noon.
* Tuesday; the Great Vigil of Easter in the parish hall at 7:30 p.m.

Kula chapel set to host Easter services
Waipuna Chapel in Kula has several services planned for Easter week.
At 7 p.m. Monday will be the “Jesus in the Passover Service.” It will be presented by Jews for Jesus and will include an explanation of the elements of communion and Jesus’ death and resurrection in relation to the Jewish Passover celebration.
On April 18 from 7 to 8 p.m. will be the Good Friday service. It will be a quiet service of contemplation on the crucifixion of Jesus and its meaning. Child care through grade 5 will be offered.
Easter morning services will be held at 8, 9:30 and 11 a.m. April 20. There will be special music, light refreshments and an Easter message from Pastor Shaun White. There will be full children’s programs through grade 5, including an egg hunt.

Church in Makawao to welcome organist
Organist Mark Thallander will provide music during 10:30 a.m. Sunday services at Makawao Union Church, according to an announcement.
Thallander led music ministries for 18 years at the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, Calif. He also has headed music programs at several other congregations. He has done solo performances and duets, playing on some of the largest pipe organs in the world, according to an announcement.

Unity Church Maui will host Rev. Wolak
The Rev. Lee Wolak, a spiritual teacher who imparts spiritual wisdom with a dynamic presentation, will be the speaker at Unity Church of Maui’s 10 a.m. Sunday service.
The theme of his talk is “Reclaiming Your Power.”
After the service, he will present a workshop, “Take Back Control of Your Life: A Step by Step Process.”

Easter services set for Calvary Chapel
Calvary Chapel South Maui will hold Easter services at 6:30, 8 and 10 a.m. on Easter Sunday, April 20, the church announced.
Child care and Sunday school for elementary-age children will be available at the 8 and 10 a.m. services. Communion will be taken at all Sunday services, and church members will enjoy a special performance at the later services.
Good Friday will be celebrated from 7 to 8 p.m.
Calvary Chapel is a nondenominational Christian church. Visitors are welcome.

3 services planned at Makawao church
Makawao Union Church will mark Holy Week with three special services, according to an announcement.
On Palm Sunday, the worship service will feature special sanctuary decorations, the procession of the children and a palm branch for all.
The Maundy Thursday service will be held at 6 p.m. and include a re-enacting of the Last Supper and the apostles following Jesus to the Garden of Gethsemane.
Easter Sunday will be celebrated with activities before, during and after the church’s 10:30 a.m. worship service. The day begins with a a breakfast of hot cross buns and fruit in the Community Hall from 9:45 to 10:15 a.m. Keiki will take part in the church’s annual Easter egg hunt after worship services.
Makawao Union Church is an interdenominational community church celebrating 150 years of service to Maui. Located at 1445 Baldwin Ave., the church is 2.5 miles mauka of Hana Highway.

There will be no daily Mass from Thursday through April 19.
The schedule of services at Maria Lanakila in Lahaina includes:
* Holy Thursday, 7 p.m. Mass of the Lord’s Supper followed by Solemn Adoration; 10 p.m. night prayer.
* Good Friday, 9 a.m. morning prayer; 3 and 7 p.m. Good Friday liturgy.

Revival celebration April 19 in Waikapu
Valley Isle Fellowship will be hosting a “Revival and Celebration of Jesus Christ” from 4:30 to 7 p.m. April 19 in Waikapu.
The event will feature music and testimonies with a worship dinner to follow. The gathering will be held in an area off Waiale Road next to the Waikapu Gardens subdivision.
Participating churches include Pukalani Baptist, Kihei Baptist Chapel, Maui Philippine Baptist, Kahului Baptist and Lanai Baptist.

Emmanuel Lutheran announces services
Emmanuel Lutheran Church has announced its Holy Week service times.
Palm Sunday worship services will at 8 and 10:45 a.m. Sunday. The Holy Thursday service will be at 6 p.m. Thursday and the Good Friday service will be at 6 p.m. April 18.
The Easter Sunrise service is at 6:30 a.m. and the Easter Celebration service is at 10 a.m. April 20.

Holy Week to begin with Sunday service
Kihei Lutheran Church will begin Holy Week by holding Palm Sunday worship services at 8 and 10:30 a.m. Each service will include a procession with palms and Holy Communion.
On Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, the congregation will share services with Trinity Episcopal Church By-the-Sea and the Kihei Tongan United Methodist Mission.
The Maundy Thursday service will start at 7:30 p.m. and will be held at Trinity By-the-Sea at 100 Kulanihakoi St. in Kihei. It will include foot washing and Holy Communion.
The Good Friday service will begin at 7 p.m. and will take place at Kihei Lutheran. The service will include readings of Christ’s Passion and the extinguishing of candles.
