Meditation session offered in Lahaina
A meditation session for beginning and returning practitioners by a Hiroshima University professor will be held beginning at 5 p.m. Sunday at Lahaina Jodo Mission.
Professor Soho Machida is the founder of Gratitude (Arigato) Meditation. His method consists of four parts: arigato breathing, kansha (gratitude) Nembutsu, kannon (bodhisattva) Zen and Nehan (Nirvana) Zen. Speaking aloud together and performing the “araya method” of cleansing will help remove negative memories.
“Arigato Meditation” is an easy practice that goes beyond religion or ethnicity, a news release about the event said.
The session fee is $25.
To sign up, email sohozenmaui@gmail.com. Lahaina Jodo Mission is located at 12 Ala Moana St.
