Discussion set on Bible lesson
Christian Science Church will be facilitating roundtable discussions on its Bible lesson from 6 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at 160 W. Kamehameha Ave., directly across from the Kahului Public Library. The Bible lesson inspires exploration, exchange of ideas, discussion and discovery.

Peach blossoms to be celebrated
Makawao Hongwanji Buddhist Temple will celebrate Peach Blossom Appreciation Day on Feb. 12. The public is invited to see the delicate, pink peach blossoms in bloom and the plump, green peaches beginning to grow.
Sunday church service with the Rev. William Masuda begins at 9 a.m., followed by refreshments and activities from 10 a.m. to noon.
One of the activities planned is worm composting with Wilma Nakamura, director of Sharing Aloha, a recycling project. To register for this activity, call Nakamura at 572-7445.

Auction to benefit residents in need
Keawala'i Congregational Church will hold a catered luncheon and silent auction Feb. 12 on the church grounds in Makena. Proceeds will help Maui residents in need.
The silent auction will be held from 8:30 to 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. to noon. Winning bidders can pay for and pick up their items at 12:45 p.m. (cash or check only).
The luncheon will start at noon. Luncheon tickets cost $15 for adults and $7 for children ages 5-12. Children under 5 will be admitted free.
Auction items represent a variety of donations from local merchants and artists.
