“Hands down, my favorite lunch item is our fish sandwich with fennel aioli, arugula and tomato on our yummy house focaccia,” says Gianna Mistura, whose husband, Matteo Mistura, is the restaurant’s namesake.
“For wines on our lunch promo, the Falanghina white, among several others, is a great value, and extra delicious with the Ligurian pizza topped with shrimp mascarpone cheese and pesto.”

AROUND THE TOWN . . .With Ku Mai Ka Hula film at Maui Arts & Cultural Center this evening, enjoy Vietnamese fare by Bale, such as shrimp rolls, lemongrass chicken sandwiches and veggie tofu salad, starting at 5:30 p.m. Solo and group hula competitions heat things up the next two evenings. From 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, AK’s Cafe will tempt you with blackened ono, roast pork, Asian garlic noodles and crab cakes.
At 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Pascual’s Cafe & Catering will present lunch fare such as kale Caesar salad, steak poke plate, guava-baked chicken and local-style chow fun (hmm . . . is there another style?)

At the University of Hawaii Maui College, a number of food-and-beverage classes are rolling out for the fall semester. Survival Teen Cooking will run from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday. Those 12 and older will learn to multitask and use nutritious and versatile ingredients.
Cleanse and Rejuvenate will run from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays Sept. 25 to Oct. 21, covering herbs, mushrooms, enzymes, food and phytonutrients, and modern and traditional cleansing techniques.
Heading to Lanai? On Wednesday, Nobu Lanai restaurant in the Four Seasons Resort Lana’i will present an omakase set menu special as a tribute to the 20th anniversary of the Nobu flagship in New York.
Basically, you get 20 years in 20 bites, or five courses with four bites each, from toro tartare to sashimi salad to black cod in butter lettuce.
