Leoda’s Kitchen & Pie Shop in Olowalu has launched Thanksgiving Thursdays in an effort to countdown to the big turkey day. “Every Thursday now until the holiday, we do turkey dinners complete with stuffing, cranberry sauce and of course, pumpkin pie,” says Sarah Jordan-Polk, director of marketing for Na Hoaloha Ekolu group.

From 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Plantation House in Kapalua will jump with its monthly Beats and Eats night, during which a fun pupu menu is prepared by Executive Chef Jojo Vasquez and music is spun by his wife, DJ Eliza, in the restaurant’s Bar Nineteen.

Those craving something a little more subdued may check out Plantation House’s monthly wine dinner. Come any night and savor five courses with four wines. This month, it’s Grgich Hills Estate of Napa Valley. Food highlights are crispy lilikoi won ton, Hokkaido scallop ceviche, crispy branzino, tournedos of beef and green-tea sponge cake. Cost is $105 with wines.

Alex Stanislaw, a veteran Maui chef who was a partner at Plantation House awhile back, has been named executive chef of the Sea House in Napili Bay.

Over the years, Stanislaw has received top honors such as Best Chef on Maui.” He’s also been featured in multiple cookbooks including “Great Chefs of Hawaii,” and has appeared on culinary and travel programs such as the “Rachael Ray Show” and Discovery Channel’s Great Chefs Series. “Being at the Sea House, I feel like I’ve come full circle,” says Stanislaw, who started his career at the former Kapalua Bay Hotel nearby. “It feels good to be back on the bay again, and I can’t imagine a more beautiful setting for the creation and enjoyment of great food.”

Fleetwood’s on Front St. is now open for dinner only with $1 oysters daily from 5 to 6 p.m. during happy hour. Live music starts at 6 p.m.

In celebration of its 25th anniversary, Lahaina Grill is offering kamaaina specials the 25th of each month, including Friday and Oct. 25. Residents get 50 percent off all entrees. Just bring valid Hawaii ID.
