NEW IN WAILEA . . . While its been quietly open for a short time, the Residence Inn Marriott Maui Wailea will be in high gear after today’s grand-opening blessing and party for VIPs.
Aikane is the newest lounge in Wailea and its contemporary vibe and convenient location are sure to draw those looking for a drink, pupu and views.
It’s the perfect open-air setting to sip a cool tropical drink or a signature crafted cocktail such as Upcountry Mule, Lilikoi Julep or Wailea GnT.
Pupu includes barbecue chicken and/or tomato-mozzarella flat breads, hummus and chips, and grilled chicken quesadillas. Hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and happy hour runs from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Sip Chinese hot tea or iced ginger tea and order a moon cake in the garden as you listen to Hong Zhau perform on erhu. On Friday, watch Chef Bobby Santos stir fry chicken chow mein and Saturday, see Chef Dean Louie soy braise exotic fall mushrooms with chestnuts.
