Maui Hands Galleries is pleased to announce the September featured artists at its various locations.
Plein air painter Diane Snoey Appler is a member of the Lahaina Arts Society and first studied professionally at the Pacific Art League in Palo Alto, Calif. Her warm landscape scenes of California and Maui are inspired by a love of the outdoors first developed in the lakes and woods of Traverse City, Mich.
Snoey Appler will be in gallery from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Fridays at the Lahaina location at 612 Front Street.
Watercolorist and Lahaina resident Luana Kama will be exhibiting her newest creations as well as demonstrating her technique from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. every Tuesday at the Lahaina Front St. location.
Mixed media artist Amanda Scott has been a dedicated artist for over 10 years. Her muse is primarily the female Polynesian figure.
Scott will be demonstrating her pyrographic technique which involves decorating wood or leather by burning a design on the surface with a heated metallic point. She will be working on a new piece in the gallery from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Monday at the Makawao location at 1169 Makawao Ave.
Painter Stacy Vosberg has been an artist as long as she can remember. An early family photo shows her at about 4-years-old standing before the living room coffee table with a paint brush in hand. The process of creating art comes as naturally to her as the spoken language.
Vosberg will be displaying her technique from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fridays at the Paia location at 84 Hana Hwy.
Artist Jeanne Young has won national awards for her paintings as well as executing commissioned life-size bronze sculptures. While on a vacation to Maui, she was invited to join a gallery in Lahaina. She fell in love with the North Shore and moved to Maui permanently.
Young can be found at the Hana Highway location from 1 to 4 p.m. every Wednesday.
