Pacific people gather in West Maui

There were over 140 participants including 54 speakers from every Hawaiian island and 16 Pacific countries at the two-day event held at the Na Aikane o Maui Cultural Center in Lahaina. Wainggai, a 2017 Nobel Peace Prize nominee, was the Oct. 14 keynote speaker. He addressed the nonviolent independence movement in West Papua.
